Quad drive security bolts have a tri-lobular self threading screw.

Drill 7.2mm hole and bolt forms its own thread - no need for tapping. (Note: 7mm hole will be fine in aluminum or up to 3mm steel).
IMPORTANT - only use low torque setting (25Nm) on drill to screw bolts in. High torque and impact drivers will strip the thread in the hole. The Makita impact driver delivers 170Nm of torque so about 7x the recommended torque for thread forming.
The tamper-resistant drive can only removed and inserted with a special quad drive bit. The 50mm long drive bit fits directly into drill chuck.
Quad drive bolts are made from hardened steel with high corrosion resistance MAGNI 565 coating
The flange-head resists drill, saw or crow bar attack.
